Do Seniors Still Shop?

We like to say that the distribution specifically targets the senior and over-55 adult market. What does that mean? The most important thing it means is that we target a huge section of the total market for many types of goods and services. This can range from legal and financial services to hair stylists to health insurance to pizza.

The next time you are in a Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Denny’s Restaurant, or Dollar Tree Store, look around and do your own market survey. The chances are that you are going to see a large senior and mature adult presence in that customer base. The staffers have already done this; that is one way we choose our distribution and pickup locations. You are not likely to see our material in a pediatrician’s office, but we are in several adult-care medical practices.

We know that aging baby boomers are affluent and they have disposable income available. A Market Insights Report from the U.S. News and World Report estimated that by the end of 2017, over half of all adults in the United States would be over 50 years of age, and that they would control almost 70% of the disposable income in America. You, as a competitive business person, cannot ignore this! You must penetrate this market.

The program can bring a multi-media approach to reaching this market. This includes, the traditional internet and web services we provide, and the printed edition of Magazine, our flagship publication. This high-quality printed magazine is distributed free at over 250 pickup locations throughout an eight-county area in coastal Volusia-Flagler and nearby counties (St. Johns, Seminole, Orange, Lake, Osceola and Polk). These locations include major outlets like CVS Pharmacies, Walgreens Pharmacies, Walmart, Denny’s Restaurants and numerous small business and office locations. Magazine Online is the web version of that magazine including its discounts section, filled with senior-oriented offers. Axiom Administrative Services, the technical side of the OurSeniors Family provides internet and marketing services of all types for these efforts.  Axiom has done traditional direct mail campaigns, video productions, web and SEO services and, especially, material aimed at the senior and 55+ market. We are becoming known as, “Axiom, Specialists in Senior Communications.”
